It was a good decision to stay around for the spring and summer. It turned out to be the best season for everything good in life and the timing, for all milestone decisions and achievements, was impeccable. It’s almost too good to leave for the journey ahead.
The vision of what the future may bring starts to reveal itself in the last month or so, when the last of the work mode whittled away and allowing me to dream a little more freely. The impatient me wants to skip forward and start executing the plan for next spring and summer but first, chase the spring and summer in the Americas.
The great friends, truly fun loving and kind supportive friends, whom I spent precious time with throughout this season are pulling my heart string as I sat here at the airport in the middle of the night waiting to start the next part of this exciting yet crazy journey of mine to explore the world and experience life. I will definitely miss them terribly.
After seconding a couple of trad climbs at Dartmoor and Cornwall, I was hooked and the only right thing to do is to learn a bit more about it before I head out to the States, hopefully do more of them. Peak District and Wye Valley were both awesome places (Stanage in Peak did freaked me out with the howling wind). I was gutted I had to leave, when there are so much on offer at Wye Valley and missing the bank holiday weekend climb gathering. There’s always next season…
Perhaps it’s a combination of everything above, it took me forever to finish the last of the packing. The reluctance to leave is so strong and it doesn’t help when packing is not that great. I pray that the journey ahead will provide me with the perspective that I need to dream and gain the courage to continue to push the limit.
US of A…here I come. I’m ready for some training and chill time before tackling the 5 months of relatively uncertain environments.
