Delaware Seashore State Park is a well maintained camp ground, primarily for RVs, where most of its occupants are fishermen. I can see the attraction of the place with an amazing beach front for the non-fishing enthusiasts to chill while the others take up the challenge with the fish at the inlet. This is also the first time I saw what surf fishing was like, what a fuss and a waste of a beach. Lucky it’s further down from the camp ground.
Without a fishing licence, I could only observe or go on my own adventure. There’s the beautiful long beach front, Bethany and Rehoboth town nearby and plenty of work on my laptop waiting to be done to keep me occupied for the week.
Fishing takes a lot of patience, especially when the fish just don’t bite. I can see everyone at the inlet casting their lines out over and over again finishing the day with nothing, still hope remains. After a day or two, some of them would figured out the correlation between the tide and outcome of their effort. One will need to have an analytical skills, not just for the tide but also the types of fish that comes in so that they use the appropriate gear and bait, alongside patience and tenacity to keep on casting.
Turned out to be a great week out in Delaware, managed to fit in quite a few things and even went out kayaking with Alex on the bayside. Lucky there was a climbing gym at Rehoboth to quench my thirst for a climb day. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather back in Lancaster so that I can go out and sample the local crags.
